Photo Submissions
![]()
Please name your files
with this naming convention:
File names should contain only lower
case characters, and no spaces.
Use the UNDERSCORE in place of a space.
YYYY_yourname_picturename.jpg
YYYY is the year
yourname is of course your name
picturename is any name you want to identify your picture with.
(If you use just a number, please use four digits (0001, 0002, 0003) etc. the file extnsion, .jpg or .txt, etc. )
The preferred way to document your photo's would be to use the program "Exifer". This is a FREE program you can download from www.exifer.friedemann.info
This software makes it very easy to document what your photo is, in the "comments" tab. This information will appear on the web page as the description of your photo.
This keeps your photo and description in the same file. I have documented all of my photo's in this way.
A distant second to this way of documenting your photo would be the following.
Include a .txt file with your picture file which describes what the picture is about, and who is in the picture. This information will be what appears with your pciture on the web site. This file should have the exact same file name as your picture file with the exception of the last three characters which should be .txt
Example of file names:
1962_slone_plankownercert.jpg
1962_slone_plankownercert.txt
Please don't submitt complicated word processing files, as everyone does not have the correct software to view them. Using WORDPAD, or NOTEPAD is safe, since all window PC's have those text editors to view text documents. The very best way is to simply use EXIFER.
